to-kitchen: construction update -- kitchen interior, mortar step, wood wall insulation

construction continues by nearing completion of the studwork for the curved walls separating the kitchen from the gallery and store on the east side of to-kitchen.

kitchen interior workdesk and windows to gallery
visitors to the gallery will be able to view the interior workings of the chefs

framework for pouring the concrete for the step between shop area and gallery has also been started.

the back windows have also been installed.  the larger to be a sliding window, the other to open for added ventilation.

All the wood boxes on the west side have been painted, insulation added, and the final wood surface insulation has started.  this cedar will be on both walls and ceiling creating a calm wood box housing the entire west side of the space.

box sides are painted with a thin black stain,
they act like a window to the existing structure
as most have no back surface added

heat an sound insulation added

final cedar surface has begun to cover the sides of the wood room
